FSG 32 woodworking machinery and equipment

Here at ASAP Aviation Procurement for management purposes, each Federal Supply Code is used to distinguish a group of products into logical families. The Federal Supply Group 32 is comprised of a broad range of woodworking equipment.

Within this Group 32, we are capable of providing a comprehensive selection of Federal Supply Codes, such as:

  • FSC 3210 – Sawmill and Planing Mill Machine
As the largest consumer and producer of lumber in the world, the United States has a long and storied history with sawmills and plaining mills. A sawmill is a facility where logs are gathered and cut into lumber. The basic process of turning logs into lumber has generally stayed the same over the years. First, trees must be felled and limbed to become logs. Second, the logs must be transported to the sawmill where they will be debarked. Once a sawyer cuts the logs into cants (unfinished logs) and flitches (unfinished planks), then they must be edged, trimmed, dried, and planed. Finally the unfinished lumber cuts are sent to a planning mill, where they will be turned into finished dimensional lumber. Today the US lumber industry - which includes those who work in sawmills and planning mills - employs over 500,000 workers.

  • FSC 3220 – Woodworking Machines
Woodworking machines typically utilize an electric motor to process wood products. These machines can range greatly in size, and there are a wide variety of both large and small wood working machines. The larger stationary woodworking machines involve moving wood through the machine, while small woodworking machines are simply hand held power tools where the tolls are moved over the material. Large woodworking machines such as panel dividers, tenoners and borers are typically used by lumber production companies while small hand-held machines are mostly used by woodwork hobbyists. Woodworking is still highly prevalent in today’s modern marketplace, and modern advances will only serve to make woodworking machines safer and more efficient.

  • FSC 3230 – Tool Attachments for Woodwork Machinery
There are a vast number of different tool attachments for both stationary and handheld woodworking machinery. Handheld woodworking attachments include biscuit joiners, chain saws, rotary tools, nail guns, drills, and sanders. Stationary wood working attachments include bandsaws, drill presses, wood shapers, bench grinders, table saws, and morisers among others.
