The Pentagon’s Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) formally notified the U.S. Congress of the long-proposed sale of the F-18s to Kuwait and F-15s to Qatar last Friday. The deal was long considered politically controversial and was held up for months on end due to the countless objections from not only Israel but also some American strategists. Officially US government has already informally advised legislators on Capitol Hill that they would be cleared in late September. An ancillary effect of the sale is the continuation of the production of both fighter types at the St. Louis Boeing facility which is expected to be extended into the next decade.

Airbus has just announced that they have just partnered with Etihad Airways Engineering to develop a new MRO solution to maintain, repair and overhaul A380 aircrafts worldwide. The program will be set up in Abu Dhabi, UAE as part of the new MoU (memorandum of understanding) in support of the airlines using the A380 fleets. The partnership will kick in next year and will allow A380 operators to handle heavy maintenance checks as well as perform upgrades to their fleet all under one roof.

On November 30th 2016, Kate Sarsfield wrote an article for Flight Global talking about how Elixir Aircraft is preparing for its first flight in 2017. Elixir Aircraft is considered to be one of France’s start up manufacturers. There will be an assembly for the prototype that will be done in December. After this is completed, the company aims to have the all carbon fiber aircraft to be in flight sometime during the first half of 2017.

Many airports are always seeking and offer customers the best VIP choices for people. They always seek to have the best options available. Recently Poland has announced that they have selected who they want to do their VIP transportation with. They announced that they have selected Gulfstream G550. The polish government chose this for their business jets to use it as a VIP transport missions. By VIP they mean that people that are in the country air force will be transported in it. They have been trying to find a decent and modernized jet since 2010. That is along time. It has been 6 years that they have been looking for something but they have not found anything until the Gulfstream came up with theirs. The air force is always looking for different ways to improve their technology and improve their functions. It can be little things but at the end everything matters. They have set a role to be the best and to act as the best for a long time and they continue to be in that role until today. They are always trying to improve and are always taking suggestions and open to communication. Because they are trying to be the best they recently upgraded their HH-60 G search and rescue helicopters with Esterline CMC avionics. This is going to cost the air force a lot of money they announces that at least it’s going to cost 7.1 million sole source contract for integration and production. This new Helicopter aviation is very expensive. The reason it is so expensive is that is very reliable and has excellent quality, it combines CDE and flight management system in one box which saves a lot of weight. That way it can hold more people in case of a rescue. It also saves space which can be helpful in the case of emergencies.

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner project has been finally completed and the All Nippon Airways (ANA) has received the first airplane which was considered to be a landmark in the jetliner’s history, regardless to any delays in production or engineering. The program first started back in 2004 when All Nippon Airways (ANA) has placed an order from Boeing for launching the first 50 airplanes and becoming the first customer to purchase and be the lead cause of the launch of the 787 Dreamliner. The design and pre-production phases started in the year 2004 and went on until late 2006, that’s when production began for the aircraft and all led to the final assembly of the first airplane on July 8, 2007. Hence the name 787. The release of the airplane was nothing short of a festival as the plane rolled out on a summer day even though it was very early for the plane to fly. The airbus A380 was also a bump in the production process of the 787.
