Bombardier Delivers Specialized Challenger 605s to Hong Kong Government
Montreal, Canada-based Bombardier announced that it has delivered a pair of specialized Challenger 605 business jets to the Hong Kong Government Flying Service. The Hong Kong Government Flying Service is tasked with search and rescue (SAR), air ambulance, firefighting, and police missions. The Government Flying Service plans to replace its aging search and rescue fleet used for long-range missions with the new Challenger 605 jets.

The fifth variant of the Bombardier Model 600, the Challenger 605 multi-role jet can be used for missions ranging from search and rescue to medical evacuation to VIP transportation.
Backed by twin General Electric CF34-3B turbofan engines, the Challenger 605 can reach maximum speeds of 470 knots (870 kilometers/hour), cruise at 459 knots (850 kilometers/hour), and fly for a range of 3,714 nautical miles (6,878 kilometers). It climbs at a rate of 1,355 meters per minute to reach a service ceiling of 12,500 meters.
