During WWII, when the need for aerospace and defense components was immense, the various supply chains struggled to keep up with demand. The problem stemmed from the fact that there was no formal classification system for components. If the military needed a component such as a fastener sourcing was confusing as, depending on the manufacturer, the fastener would have a different name. This also led to further supply problems such as discrepancies in supply. In one location there would be a surplus of fasteners, but in another location there was a deficit. In response to these sourcing issues, the U.S Department of Defense created the NSN system.

Rolls-Royce and Liebherr-aerospace Lindenberg GmbH have set a record for the world’s most powerful gearbox, with a total of 70,000 horsepower. With the power of about 400 family carts at full throttle. They accomplished this only months after they started testing it in May. This aerospace gearbox will be used for the UltraFan engine, assisting in making it more efficient with the use of increased endurance and reliability. This gearbox is so powerful, it can transmit more power than an entire grid of Formula 1 cars when running at full power.

State run Aviation company, Aviation Industry Corporation of China has created what is known as the AG-600 “amphibian” sea plane. The AG-600 also known as the Kunlong by its natives the aircraft initiates its first flight from land. The aircraft has full capability of departing from the large bodies of water. The process of creating such as unique aircraft took a process of approximately 7 years. Its main purpose is to be able to perform different variety of tasks such as sea rescues, firefighting and will be used as a law enforcement for Southern Chinas artificial islands.

Airbus begins implementing their new models on a nonprofit air medical transportation service company found in Memphis, Tennessee. Hospital Wing, the nonprofit, begun to receive Airbus’ new model aircrafts the H130. Previously the Wings fleet consist of older models such as three EC130B4 and three H125 aircrafts.

On February 16 2017 Belgium, Germany and Norway’s defense ministers all signed a declaration of intent to be a part of the European multinational fleet of Airbus tankers. The decision was made to be able to full their aircrafts during longer missions more effectively without landing.

The European fleet was established by Netherlands and Luxemburg to help European fleets be able to extend their flights and not having to land. The idea was launched by the both countries in July of the year 2016 and was used first used for a pair of Airbus A330 Multi Role tanker transporter aircraft that has been proposed to be delivered in the year 2020.
