Canadian EMS Ambulance Reinstate into Service Contract for AW139 Helicopter
Canadian EMS Ambulance signs agreement for a continuing contract with Leonardo-Finmeccanica to service AW139 Helicopters Fleet. Existed to the service contract to be extended an approximate 6 years of continuous work on logistics support and component repair and overhaul services for the Canadian AgustaWestland AW139 helicopters.
The service company has done an outstanding job servicing their fleet making it achieve 95% dispatch rate for the entire helicopter division. Ornge, the company that operates for the Canadian Emergency medical services and Leanardos Service expertise both accomplished ,” Leonardo-Finmeccanica today announced that it has signed a contract with Canadian emergency medical services (EMS) operator Ornge for an additional six years of logistics support and component repair and overhaul services for its AgustaWestland AW139 helicopter fleet through its performance-based Full Component Plan. The contract, part of Leonardo’s Service Excellence new support offering, solidifies the support partnership between the company and Ornge, following operational success in 2015 where the air medical transport provider flew in excess of 6,000 flight hours in 24/7 operations across seven rotary-wing bases and reached a 95 percent dispatch availability rate. The Full Component Plan is in place to further support critical care transportation across Ontario by improving spares planning and forecasting and implementing guaranteed logistics performance.”
A recent addition has been made to the Orgne fleet making it the 11th aircraft in their fleet to be added with the ambulance roll. The latest aircraft was modified in the Philadelphia location to be equipped with new state of the art equipment such as,” Wire Strike Protection System, Second Landing Light, SATCOM Latitude Telephone, V/UHF Radio and a new intercom system in the cabin.”
Once completed with the integration of medical equipment inside the vehicle, the helicopter was sent to a location in Moosonee, Ontario, Canada. The prompt completion of the of the modifications went to show how effective the Philadelphia facility is to be able to supply customers with types of modifications they may require.
