Airbus has just announced that they have just partnered with Etihad Airways Engineering to develop a new MRO solution to maintain, repair and overhaul A380 aircrafts worldwide. The program will be set up in Abu Dhabi, UAE as part of the new MoU (memorandum of understanding) in support of the airlines using the A380 fleets. The partnership will kick in next year and will allow A380 operators to handle heavy maintenance checks as well as perform upgrades to their fleet all under one roof. Read more >>

On November 30th 2016, Kate Sarsfield wrote an article for Flight Global talking about how Elixir Aircraft is preparing for its first flight in 2017. Elixir Aircraft is considered to be one of France’s start up manufacturers. There will be an assembly for the prototype that will be done in December. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner project has been finally completed and the All Nippon Airways (ANA) has received the first airplane which was considered to be a landmark in the jetliner’s history, regardless to any delays in production or engineering. The program first started back in 2004 when All Nippon Airways (ANA) has placed an order from Boeing for launching the first 50 airplanes and becoming the first customer to purchase and be the lead cause of the launch of the 787 Dreamliner. The design and pre-production phases started in the year 2004 and went on until late 2006, that’s when production began for the aircraft and all led to the final assembly of the first airplane on July 8, 2007. Hence the name 787. The release of the airplane was nothing short of a festival as the plane rolled out on a summer day even though it was very early for the plane to fly. Sikorsky’s success in multi-role Black Hawk utility aircraft lead to activating contractual agreements under the Turkish Utility Helicopter program (TUHP) to produce T70 utility helicopter. This agreement has been approved by the U.S. and Turkish governments, it permits the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) to manufacture and deliver 109 T70 helicopters over the period of 10 years. Six Turkish agencies such as the Land Forces, Air Forces and Special Forces are expecting the product by the year 2021. Read more >>
