BAE Systems has triumphantly achived flight trials of Eurofighter Typhoon with MBDA's Brimstone air-to-surface weapon. The trials were conducted using the UK Typhoon Instrumented Production Aircraft (IPA) 6 to gather air data on the weapon and increase the carriage envelope. During the trials, Aero Data Gathering (ADG) flights were performed to test how the addition of the Brimstone weapon and other assets cooperate with the aircraft’s flight control system software. Boeing and Singapore Airlines are have outlined an agreement for a new renovation to the Singapore airline aircrafts. A total of 30 aircrafts have been proposed to be able to replace the existing fleet consisting of different types of Boeing aircraft parts and models such as the (20) 777-9 and the (19) 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft. Also including six different types of aircraft model options that Boeing can provide which will increase the number of total aircrafts provided if agreed upon. The intended agreement also consists of being able to swap out the 787-10 aircrafts for different types of models of the 787 group. The entire transaction is estimated to cost and approximated 13.8 billion US dollars. Read more >>

On February 16 2017 Belgium, Germany and Norway’s defense ministers all signed a declaration of intent to be a part of the European multinational fleet of Airbus tankers. The decision was made to be able to full their aircrafts during longer missions more effectively without landing.

The European fleet was established by Netherlands and Luxemburg to help European fleets be able to extend their flights and not having to land. The idea was launched by the both countries in July of the year 2016 and was used first used for a pair of Airbus A330 Multi Role tanker transporter aircraft that has been proposed to be delivered in the year 2020. The US Air Force (USAF) has finished the first air-to-air refueling mission between a KC-135 Stratotanker and a Romanian Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft.

The USAF's 100th Air Refueling Wing (ARW) has helped the Romanian Air Force to get certified to obtain fuel from all US KC-135s. The 100th ARW, based at Royal Air Force Mildenhall, sent a 14-person crew and a KC-135 to Romania in support of the mission. Read more >>
